Account & team
Manage your own account from Settings, and (if you're an admin) manage your organization and teammates from the admin area.
Verify your email
When you sign up, Canary9 sends a confirmation link from noreply@canary9.com to the address you registered with. New accounts must verify before using the dashboard: you'll land on a Verify your email screen and stay there until you click the link. The link is valid for 24 hours.
- Didn't get the email? Check your spam or promotions folder first.
- Resend: select Resend on the verify screen to get a new link. To prevent accidental spam, resend is limited to once every 60 seconds.
- Once you click the link, you're taken into the dashboard and your account is marked verified.
Forgot your password?
Select Having trouble? on the sign-in page, enter the email address for your account under Forgot your password, and we'll send a reset link from noreply@canary9.com. For your privacy, the confirmation reads the same whether or not the address has an account.
- The link works once and expires after 1 hour. If it has expired or already been used, the reset page tells you so and offers to send a fresh link.
- Choose a new password (at least 8 characters), and you're done.
- For your security, setting a new password signs you out everywhere: any browser or device that was signed in to your account, including one you don't recognize, has to sign in again with the new password. If you use two-factor authentication, it still applies at sign-in.
- Didn't get the email? Check your spam folder first, then request another link. Resets are limited to one email per minute. If you still can't get in, contact support@canary9.com.
Your profile & password
Open Settings from the account menu: select your avatar in the top-right corner of the dashboard. The page is organized into three tabs:
- Profile: update your name and email.
- Security: change your password (enter your current password, then the new one twice), and manage two-factor authentication; see the dedicated 2FA guide.
- Display: your display preferences.
Display preferences
On the Display tab, the Expand multiple endpoints toggle controls whether opening one endpoint's detail view collapses the others (off, the default) or lets several stay open at once (on). Your choice is remembered in your browser.
Get help & send feedback
The life-buoy icon next to your avatar in the top-right corner opens an email to support@canary9.com. Use it for help requests, product feedback, and feature ideas: it goes straight to the team.
Roles
Every member of an organization has a role:
Admin
Full access: manages the organization, invites and removes members, and changes roles, in addition to all monitoring features.
User
Day-to-day access to endpoints, alerts, and integrations, without organization or member management.
Organization settings (admin)
Admins get an Organization area (the gear next to your organization name in the sidebar) to rename the organization and see the member count. Non-admins don't see these controls.
Manage your team (admin)
From the admin area, admins can:
- Invite a member: provide their name, email, a temporary password, and a role (User or Admin).
- Edit a member: change their name or role.
- Remove a member: delete their access (you can't remove yourself, and you can't change your own role).
